Resistive sensor RES1

Detection process for toll classification of vehicles

The sensor is installed in the toll lane, after an induction loop.

When a vehicle enters the toll lane, it is classified as follows:

  • Detection of the metal mass of the vehicle by the loop: Connection / Capella LD.
  • The signal is analysed by the Capella LD detector and transmitted as an “on – off control” signal to the classification electronics.
  • Detection of the vehicle’s axles by the resistive sensor (RES1 or RES2): Connection / Capella RD2.
  • The signal is analysed by the RD2 detector and transmitted as an “on – off control” signal to the classification electronics.
  • The classification electronics receive the signals from both detectors (RD2 and LD).
  • Depending on the signals received, the device will classify the based on the registered classification.
