Toll axle detection sensor : RES1
The “Sensor / Support / Detector” set is designed for the detection of vehicle axles for a toll classification, in “classic” or “free-flow” mode.
This set is used to detect vehicles travelling between 0 to 80 km/h, with 99.9% detection accuracy.
Its trapezoidal shape means that the sensor can be installed in its SUP1 support directly in a toll lane. The sensor must therefore be inserted with force into its stainless steel support for optimum grip.
Axles are therefore detected following pressure exerted by one or more wheels of the vehicle. This pressure therefore causes variation in the sensor’s electrical resistance. The signal is then used by the Capella RD detector, which transmits an “On-Off control” signal.

Depending on the layout of the sensors on the toll lane, different measurements may be provided, such as the detection of :
- motorcycles (2 wheels),
- reversing vehicles,
- dual wheels.
